Like almost all 5.11 products I've used, it's very well done and I figure it'll last for years. I usually like this bag a lot and I found it very useful. The ambidextrous nature of the bag is large and means that you can change your shoulders without too many problems, helping to avoid shoulder pains. Some things are worth taking into account. Because it is so well done, and rather comfortable to use, it is very easy to overload this bag. He can take it, but sometimes you can't! If you're not going to be doing long distances then it's not a problem, but it's worth taking into account. I often use this when on my bike and its great ease to get the bag on and off, swinging to the front if I need access to it without removing it. However, it also rotates around the front sometimes when you don't want to ( turn on and down a bike!) it's not a big problem, but using a sling bag can take some getting used to. They sold me on the Rush Tier system and I was excited to cut this off on my Rush 72 for a long train journey back home with several stops. However, the bag itself is already quite large and joining another large bag is simply realistically practical. You end up with your center of gravity too displaced even for the short change of train walking! I ended up using the moab on my forehead and I rushed 72 on my back, waving it's not that big. Maybe a smaller bag (or the moab 6 tiering to a bigger bag?). But if both bags are full, it doesn't really work. Another thing to take into account is that when the main compartment and the moab 10 organizing pocket are both filled, the access to CCW's hidden pocket (which in the UK, use for maps, etc. no weapons!) is quite difficult. The loading capacity of this bag is surprisingly good, I have worn a laptop, ipad, and change extra clothes before. Also take into account the use of the hydration bag in the back significantly reduces the load space in the main pocket, and also the tube is difficult to manoeuvre around the sunglasses pocket.
